About the Doctor

Dr. Ganesh Deogaonkar

DNB PDCC FRCR (London) EBIR (Vienna), FVIR (GSTT, London)
Endovascular Specialist

Dr. Ganesh Deogaonkar is a specialist in minimally invasive, image-guided treatments - procedures that treat complex vascular conditions through tiny incisions, without the need for open surgery. With over 18 years of clinical experience, he brings together global training and deep personal commitment to helping patients reclaim their health and quality of life.

A Career Built at the World’s Best Institutions

Dr. Ganesh’s journey has taken him through some of the most respected hospitals in India and the United Kingdom. After establishing himself as a consultant in both countries, he pursued advanced training at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, London — consistently ranked the #1 hospital in the United Kingdom for over a decade and one of the best in the world.

Following his training there, he was invited to serve as a consultant at the same institution — an honour rarely extended to international physicians, and a testament to the confidence his colleagues placed in his abilities.

During his time in London, Dr. Ganesh developed expertise in some of the most technically demanding vascular procedures available today:

  • Complex aortic aneurysm and dissection repair — including EVAR, TEVAR, Fenestrated EVAR, and procedures using iliac branch devices
  • Peripheral arterial disease & diabetic foot — including innovative below-the-knee treatments and deep venous arterialisation for patients with no other options for limb salvage
  • Varicose veins and Deep venous thrombosis — using modern laser and endovenous glue for varicose veins and thrombectomy and venous stenting techniques for both acute and chronic deep vein thrombosis
  • Prostate artery embolisation (PAE) — a minimally invasive alternative to prostate surgery for men with benign enlargement

Back Home in Mumbai

Dr. Ganesh has now returned to India and is currently based at Nanavati Max Super Speciality Hospital, Mumbai, where he serves as the Associate Director - Vascular & Interventional Radiology.

He offers patients in India access to treatments and techniques that were, until recently, available only at leading centres abroad. His areas of clinical focus include:

  • Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) and Diabetic Foot
  • Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and Venous Disease
  • Aortic Aneurysm and dissection (EVAR / TEVAR/ FEVAR)
  • Varicose Veins
  • Uterine fibroid embolisation, prostate artery embolisation and other embolisation therapies
  • Complex aortic and peripheral vascular interventions

His Approach to Patient Care

Dr. Ganesh believes that a diagnosis should never feel like a dead end. For many conditions once managed only through major surgery, minimally invasive alternatives now exist — with less pain, shorter hospital stays, and faster recovery.

He works closely with each patient to explain their options in plain language, ensuring they feel informed and confident before any procedure. Whether you are coming for a second opinion or seeking treatment for the first time, his focus is always on what is safest and most effective for you.

If you or a loved one has been told you need vascular or other surgery, it may be worth asking: is there a less invasive option?

Dr. Ganesh would be happy to review your case.
